LIVING WATERS FOURSQUARE CHURCH CHILDREN AND YOUTH CODE OF CONDUCT MANUAL

Living Waters is committed to the protection and releasing in our children and youth the calling God has placed on their lives.  We look to 1 Thessalonians 5:23 as a guide: “…may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete…”(NASB).  We have been charged by God with the responsibility of protecting each child’s and youth’s spirit, soul, and body: we will do everything possible to fulfill that charge.

We want to create a safe and caring environment that encourages spiritual, emotional, and physical health for all children and youth who take part in our ministries.  We are also committed to protecting volunteers from false accusations.  Therefore, all volunteers who work with our children and youth must follow the Foursquare “Child and Youth Protection Code of Conduct.”

VOLUNTEERS OF LIVING WATERS CHURCH WILL:

  1. TREAT ALL CHILDREN/YOUTH WITH RESPECT AND FAIRNESS AT ALL TIMES 
  2. RESPOND WITH CHRISTIAN LOVE AND UNDERSTANDING IN ALL SITUATIONS
  3. ACT AS A POSITIVE ROLE MODLE FOR CHILDREN AND YOUTH BY MAINTAINING AN ATTITUDE OF RESPECT, LOYALTY, PATIENCE, COURTESY AND MATURITY 
  4. DRESS APPROPRIATELY AND AVOID WEARING PROVOCATIVE AND/OR REVEALING CLOTHING
  5. USE ONLY APPROPRIATE DISPLAYS OF AFFECTION
  6. REFRAIN FROM INAPPROPRIATE PHYSICAL INTERACTIONS
  7. REFRAIN FROM SWEARING OR TELLING OFF-COLORED JOKES
  8. AVOID INVOLVING CHILDREN AND YOUTH IN PERSONAL PROBLEMS OR ISSUES

VOLUNTEER CODE OF CONDUCT FORM 

As an applicant for a volunteer position at Living Waters Church and its ministries, I have read, understand, and agree to abide by the "Child & Youth Protection Code of Conduct" of Living Waters Church (the above form).  I further agree to abide by all policies, procedures and rules of Living Waters Church regarding children & youth, and as otherwise deemed applicable to me.  I further understand that any violation of this code of conduct may result in my immediate and potentially permanent dismissal.  

I declare that I will not abuse (physically, verbally, sexually, or emotionally) or neglect any child. 

The information contained in this application is correct to the best of my knowledge.  I authorize any references or churches listed to give any information (including opinions) that may have regarding my character and fitness for work with children, youth, or adults.  I release all such references from any liability for furnishing such evaluations provided on my behalf.  I waive any right that I may have to inspect references provided.  I am striving to live a Holy Spirit led life and agree to set a Christ-like example while serving at Living Waters.  I understand this is not an application for employment.  I further understand that the Foursquare Church takes abuse very seriously and abuse in any form will not be tolerated.  I am aware that my participation in abuse in any form is cause for my removal from serving.

TO COMPLETE THIS THIS APPLICATION AND BE RELEASED TO SERVE AT LIVING WATERS, YOU MUST COME INTO THE CHURCH OFFICE WITH A PIECE OF IDENTIFICATION (LICENSE OR PASSPORT) AND FILL OUT A BACKGROUND CHECK FORM.  ONCE WE HAVE RAN YOUR BACKGROUND CHECK, YOU WILL BE NOTIFIED BY A TEAM MEMBER AND NOW OFFICIALLY AUTHORIZED TO SERVE AT LIVING WATERS.
